What does a 2-stroke crankshaft rebuild include?
A complete teardown and rebuild: we disassemble the crankshaft, inspect every component, and replace worn connecting rods, big-end bearings, thrust washers and seals as needed. We weld where required, then press the assembly back together, true it to a tight runout spec, and balance it. Every crank is verified before it ships back.
Do you offer mail-in crankshaft service?
Yes. We accept crankshafts and complete bottom ends from anywhere in the United States. Most of our work is mail-in. See our step-by-step
guide to sending your core.
How do I send my crankshaft in?
Contact us first for a quote and shipping details, then remove your crank (or send the whole bottom end), tag it with your name and contact info, package it securely, and ship it to our Garden City, ID shop. Full instructions are on the
Send Your Core page.
How much does a crankshaft rebuild cost?
Pricing is flat-rate by make and model. See the complete
price list for watercraft, snowmobile, and motorcycle/ATV. If your model isn't listed, call us for a quote.
What's the difference between a standard rebuild and one “with webs”?
Some watercraft cranks can be rebuilt with welded webs for added strength on higher-output or hard-use applications. Those options are priced separately on the price list (shown as “w/ webs”). Not sure which you need? Ask us and we’ll point you the right way.
Which makes and models do you rebuild?
Watercraft (Kawasaki, Yamaha, Sea-Doo, Polaris), snowmobile (Ski-Doo, Polaris, Yamaha), and motorcycle/ATV (Yamaha including the Banshee, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, KTM). If it’s a 2-stroke crank, there’s a good chance we rebuild it.
Do you true and balance every crankshaft?
Yes. Truing to a tight runout tolerance and balancing are part of every rebuild. A crank that isn’t dead-true will vibrate, wear bearings prematurely, and rob power, so we verify every assembly on the bench before it goes back out.
What is a counterbalance service?
Certain engines, like the Sea-Doo 785 and 951, use a counterbalance shaft. We offer counterbalance service for those models — see the watercraft section of the price list.
Where are you located?
We’re in Garden City, Idaho, just outside Boise, at 507 E 45th Street, Unit 300. Local customers are welcome, and we ship rebuilt cranks back to customers nationwide.
